🍊 Sheet Pan Orange Chicken & Broccoli

Ingredients

  • For the chicken & veggies

    • 1 ½ lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces

    • 4 cups broccoli florets

    • 2 tbsp olive oil

    • Salt & black pepper, to taste

    • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional for crispiness)

  • For the orange sauce

    • ½ cup orange juice (fresh preferred)

    • 1–2 tbsp orange zest

    • 3 tbsp soy sauce

    • 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar

    • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or white vinegar

    • 2 cloves garlic, minced

    • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)

    • ½–1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

    • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Prep the oven & sheet pan

    • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment or lightly grease it.

  2. Season chicken & broccoli

    • Toss chicken pieces with olive oil, salt, pepper, and cornstarch.

    • Spread chicken on half the sheet pan.

    • Toss broccoli with a little olive oil, salt, pepper.

    • Spread broccoli on the other half of the pan.

  3. Bake

    • Bake for 12–15 minutes until chicken is just cooked through.

  4. Make the sauce

    • In a small pot, whisk orange juice, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, zest, ginger & red pepper flakes.

    • Bring to a simmer, whisk in the cornstarch slurry until thickened (1–2 minutes).

  5. Combine & finish

    • Remove pan from oven, pour sauce over chicken, toss to coat.

    • Add broccoli into the mix lightly.

    • Return to oven for 5–7 more minutes until caramelized.

  6. Serve

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.

    • Serve over steamed rice, quinoa, or noodles.

  • Swap broccoli with green beans, peppers, or snap peas.

  • Use tofu for a vegetarian version — coat tofu in cornstarch for crispiness.

  • Add orange slices during the final bake for extra citrus flavor.
