Sheet Pan General Tso’s Chicken and Broccoli Recipe



Ingredients

For the Chicken & Broccoli:

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cut into 1-inch cubes)

  • 1 head broccoli, cut into small florets

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the General Tso’s Sauce:

  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

For Garnishing:

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare the Baking Sheet

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

2. Coat & Roast the Chicken

  • In a bowl, toss the chicken cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

  • Drizzle olive oil over the chicken and toss again.

  • Spread the chicken pieces on one side of the prepared baking sheet.

  • Roast in the oven for 10 minutes.

3. Add the Broccoli

  • Remove the sheet pan from the oven and add the broccoli to the other side.

  • Drizzle with a little olive oil and toss gently.

  • Return to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.

4. Prepare the General Tso’s Sauce

  • While the chicken and broccoli are baking, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sriracha, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

5. Toss Everything in the Sauce

  • Once the chicken and broccoli are cooked, remove them from the oven.

  • Drizzle the General Tso’s sauce over everything and toss gently to coat.

6. Serve & Garnish

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

  • Serve hot over steamed rice or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
