Moo goo gai pan is a Chinese-American dish that literally translates to chicken with sliced mushrooms. This dish is great, light, and very flavorful.

 

 

Cheese and Lamb Steaks Recipe

🍽️ Serves: 2

⏱️ Cooking Time: 30–35 minutes


Ingredients

For the Lamb Steaks

  • 2 lamb steaks

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp garlic paste (or 2 minced cloves)

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the Cheese Topping

  • ½ cup grated mozzarella or cheddar

  • 2 tbsp parmesan (optional)

  • 1 tbsp cream or mayonnaise

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

  • ½ tsp mixed herbs


🔥 Instructions

1. Marinate the Lamb

  1. Rub the lamb steaks with olive oil, garlic, pepper, herbs, salt, and lemon juice.

  2. Let it marinate for 15–30 minutes (longer gives better flavor).


2. Cook the Lamb Steaks

Pan Method:

  1. Heat butter in a heavy pan.

  2. Place the lamb steaks and cook:

    • 3–4 minutes per side for medium

    • 5–6 minutes per side for well done

  3. Remove and rest the steaks for 5 minutes.

Grill Method:
Grill at high heat for 6–8 minutes per side.


3. Prepare the Cheese Topping

  1. In a bowl, mix mozzarella, parmesan, cream/mayo, chili flakes, and mixed herbs.

  2. Spread this mixture on top of each cooked lamb steak.


4. Melt the Cheese

  • Place the cheese-topped steaks in an oven or air fryer at 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes
    OR

  • Cover the pan with a lid on low heat until the cheese melts and bubbles.


🍷 Serving Suggestions

Serve with:

  • Mashed potatoes

  • Garlic bread

  • Grilled vegetables

  • Green salad

  • Mint yogurt dip
